In the Tena valley north of Jaca, Formigal spreads across four valleys with mostly wide, sunny intermediate runs and a top lift at around 2,250 metres. Linked by ski pass and shuttle bus, Panticosa adds steeper, tree-lined slopes above a classic mountain village. Together they offer around 180 km of pistes.
The skiing
- Formigal's Sextas, Izas, Portalet and Anayet valleys suit beginners and intermediates.
- Panticosa's runs through the forest are good on stormy days.
- There are terrain parks, freeride zones and a children's snow garden.
Après-ski
Formigal's slopeside bars, especially on weekends, have made it famous for après-ski parties with DJs and dancing in ski boots.
Tips
- Stay in Formigal for ski-in access, or in Sallent de Gállego or Panticosa for charm.
- The resort is around 2 hours from Zaragoza and about 1 h 30 from Pau via the Portalet pass (when open).
