Rising straight out of the village of Riglos, the Mallos are towers of red conglomerate rock up to around 300 metres tall. They're a mecca for climbers, and griffon vultures nest on their ledges.

Things to do

  • Walk the Camino del Solano, a loop of a couple of hours around the base of the towers.
  • Watch climbers on the classic big-wall routes.
  • Look out for griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures and even the rare lammergeier.

Nearby

The smaller Mallos de Agüero are close by, and the superb Romanesque Castillo de Loarre is about 30 minutes away.

Getting there

Riglos is about 1 hour from Huesca and 1 hour from Jaca. A few trains on the Zaragoza–Canfranc line stop at Riglos station.
